Bases

This is probably the most important part of any garden timber building, and as we all know, you shouldn’t build on sand or soil alone, and this certainly goes for when you are installing an outside building.

My belief, concrete pads are the safest and most reliable base, stakes set in concrete are also extremely trustworthy, as are base rail frames, back-filled with hardcore, and posts then concreted in to that.

Another option is to have your building raised and placed on to a decorative dwarf wall, made of concrete block and faced of brick or a facing of personal choice.

The least expensive method is to lay a level bed of paving slabs on to a mortar base.
